Giving the Gift of Practicality
By Mon
Ever receive a gift that leaves you wondering…what in the hell? Let’s be honest for a sec, while the candle is a nice gesture, chances are it will sit and collect dust (unless you’re a candle collector & love candles)…anyway, my point is…when you don’t know what to get someone, but still want to get something for them, think PRACTICALITY!

Here are some items that I think are practical for any person…items that maybe they will ask, what the hell? at first, but eventually will be grateful for when they need it, but didn’t know they had it and then remembered someone (YOU) bought it for them!
Don’t you hate when the power goes out and you have to stumble about in the dark to find the candles…the ones you received as a present, but never used cuz they were too pretty? Well, now you have to use them and watch them melt away because you didn’t have a flashlight. Well, if only you had that easy to access flashlight! You wouldn’t stub your toe or wonder if your house will burn down in case you fall asleep during the power outage and your candles are still lit..a flashlight does wonders. Don’t be cheap, include batteries
On my 17th birthday, one of my guy friends gave me a Leatherman and a penny as my birthday present. WTF? Ok. Someday, he said, someday you’ll understand. And he was right. A pocket knife is an essential. It has everything you need bundled into one easily portable device! However, the penny…I still don’t get.
This one is self-explanatory. You never know when an accident happens and you need first aid! These kits vary in size, you can get the minimal travel kit to the whole shabang (with AED and everything! not really) But, a first aid kit can truly be a life saver. And with this gift, you can be creative and put together your own special first aid kid for your recipient! Buy some band aids, neosporin, alcohol swaps, etc!
Everyone needs a tool kit.
Not everyone has OnStar, so better take your own precautions. This won’t even take up space in the house…because it should be in the trunk of your car at all times! Trust me, it’s better to be prepared for the unexpected…it’s possible.
